Owner and Lead Accountant

With 20 years of experience in financial management, Kevin's expertise covers a range of topics, from corporate financial planning and control to accounting, taxes, consultation and money management for individuals and small businesses.

Prior to founding Common Cents, Kevin spent a decade as a Credit Manager and Treasury Analyst for Sonic Solutions, an international software company based in Novato, CA. Before that, he spent ten years living and working in the US Virgin Islands, where he served as accountant to a successful international investment firm.

Kevin was born and raised in New York City. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School and Baruch College. He is a Quickbooks pro Advisor, a Notary Public, and a certified tax preparer.

Kevin lives in beautiful Petaluma with his wife and children. He believes strongly in his community.

Laurie Ferguson


Laurie joined Common Cents Bookkeeping in 2016, bringing her experience in managing small businesses in QuickBooks Desktop and Online. She was the broker/owner of Rolling Hills Mortgage and Real Estate for over ten years, and utilized QuickBooks with her own businesses as well as providing consulting services to other small business owners. She feels privileged to help small business owners focus on their success.

Julia Vanderham


Julia has been helping manage clients with Common Cents since 2014. Her experience as an administrator and executive assistant give her an integrated understanding of how to create systems for bookkeeping and organization to both streamline and improve the effectiveness of each client's activities. She is committed to providing services - professionally and personally - which enable good people to do good work.
